Meditation has been practiced since antiquity as a form of religious tradition and as a backbone of belief. It has been integrated into daily life and health routines as a way to quiet the mind; to develop compassion, patience, and forgiveness among many other things. The concept of following one's breath is based on the idea that breath is life force, or chi, and by paying close attention to the breathe, we can sustain a single-pointed concentration which enables us to enjoy an unparalleled sense of well being.
We are very fortunate to have Elaina Manzanares lead this workshop in guided breathing. She is a Certified Massage Therapist and has practiced Yoga for many years. Elaina has seen the effects of purposeful breathing firsthand and has implemented the practice into her life. Her amazing ability to connect with the breath is contagious and she will show us how to connect with our own.
